As last year, the Whitbread Cup had a French theme as it coincided with Roland Garros. The French flag was flying (well actually it was decorating the cake table) and the refreshements included baguettes, cheese, pate, brioches, pain au chocolat and tarte au citron. But playing was the priority - although the level of play might not quite have matched grand slam standard, there was great tennis with some impressive, close matches and a real competitive spirit. It was great fun for every level of player who took part. Thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to the semi finalists who came through the group rounds - Julia and Josh, Jenny and Sam, Debbie and John and Gail and Hans. We hope the winning pair Jenny and Sam enjoyed their baguette and camambert prizes in addition to their trophies!
