Wortham is a friendly, forward looking, four floodlit court club with over 240 members. We welcome players of all abilities and aim to offer something for everyone:
- active adult, junior and mini programmes
- social and competitive play all year round
- regular 'turn up and play' club sessions
- adult and junior tournaments throughout the summer season
- teams in a number of competitive leagues, both summer and winter
- coaching (adult, junior, 'mini' and 'tots'), group and individual
- Cardio Tennis - a fun way to keep fit and/or improve your fitness level
- Tennis Xpress - a programme for adult beginners or those who haven't played for a while
- local schools programme
We have had some fantastic successes over the last few years:
- Suffolk Sport and Suffolk LTA Club of the Year 2015.
- Suffolk LTA Club of the Year 2016 - such an achievement to receive the award two years running
- Individuals recognised for their contribution to the club and to tennis - Josh Goddard LTA National Young Volunteer 2012; Coach, Emily Wharton, AEGON national coach of the month June 2013; Club Secretary Isobel Hunter LTA Volunteer of the Month March 2014, Julia Waters LTA Volunteer of the Month November 2014.
- Head Coach Emily Wharton is a qualified LTA Coach Education Tutor and is the She Rallies Ambassadors for Suffolk - an initiative led by Judy Murray to encourage more women into the tennis workforce and more girls into tennis.
We hope you will find what you want to get out of tennis in Wortham Tennis Club. There are opportunities for every level of player. Come and join in!
